BITMAA-NA was formed by the graduating class of 1963 following their Golden Jubilee celebration in 2013 with Madhavan Nayar, a member of the 1963 class, an industrialist and Philanthropist as its founding President. Even today his Nayar Foundation is the major donor to BITMAA-NA.
The BITMAA-NA was established as a non-profit organization to assist the Birla Institute of Technology, … the students, faculty, employees and alumni.
Registered BITMAA-NA in 2014 as a not-for-profit organization with State and Federal Govt. as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) Private Foundation for support and grants, to students, faculty and to BITM. Established Bylaws and formed a Seven Member Board. Currently it has an Eleven Member Board.

- Nurture a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism among the alumni to help improve education, research, student life and campus facilities
- Help create tie-ins between BITM and reputable US universities including exchange programs for students and faculty.
